Software Engineer – Level 1

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level 1). The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems). Additionally, the Software Engineer will review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Strong Java and Java Script experience.
• Experience in developing micro-services framework; design and implementation of local caching services; ETL.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
• Familiar with Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub and GitLab.
• Familiar with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience working in Agile software environment.
• Knowledge of Cloud services (AWS).
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Go, Rust and/or C++ is desired.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Eleven (11) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
