Software Engineer – Level 2

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level 2). The Software Engineer will have a primary focus of supporting all aspects of agile software design and development for a full featured service hosted on large scale compute clusters and AWS Cloud Infrastructure. Duties include design, development, testing and integration of capabilities, optimization & performance tuning, and operation & sustainment functions.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience in Java programming for distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS Cloud Architecture design.
• Proficiency using AWS SDKs and APIs.
• Proficient with continuous integration, deployment, testing, & monitoring practices.
• Knowledge with observability tools (e.g., ElasticSearch, OpenSearch).
• Familiarity with Agile development tools with source code management practices.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus fourteen (14) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Eighteen (18) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
