Software Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (SWE) – Level 3 to develop, sustain, and troubleshoot existing customer software applications and future software capabilities, as needed.  Software development activities include implementation, testing, and integration with other COTS, GOTS, and FOSS products, packages, and libraries.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Suite of Tools; w/strong background in Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu).
• Experience developing Bash scripts.
• Recent software development experience using Python and Java.
• Experience implementing a Privilege Manager.
• Experience integrating directory services (e.g., LDAP, Active Directory, FreeIPA).
• Understanding of identity and access management (IAM) and privileged access management (PAM).
• Experience troubleshooting system-level issues (e.g., logs, services, networking, and authentication).
• Familiar with API-based integrations and RESTful services in CI/CD pipeline.
• Experience using IaC principles and automation tools (Ansible and SaltStack).
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker and Podman).
• Experience supporting/sustaining large Linux clusters, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Atlassian Suite of Tools (Jira and Confluence).

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline and five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline and seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Nine (9) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
