Cloud System Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Cloud System Engineer (Level 3).  The Cloud System Engineer will analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to lead design and development activities.  The Cloud System Engineer shall incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Furthermore, candidates are expected to provide support responsibilities, including after-hours call-in.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience provisioning, configuring, and managing cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., compute, storage, networking, IAM).
• Experience designing and implementing secure, scalable cloud architectures.
• Experience developing and maintaining infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools, such as CloudFormation, AWS, CDK, etc.
• Knowledge of containers and platform workloads (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
• Experience configuring, monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools, such as Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, etc. and responding to incidents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university, plus twenty (20) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Twenty (25) years of experience in cloud systems engineering in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
