Software Engineer – Level 2

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level 2). The Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, deploys, documents, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements. The Software Engineer shall be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Tools and Services in support of the Atlassian’s suite of products (such as Jira, Confluence).

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools
• Java development experience
• Experience developing Bash and PHP scripts to automate manual processes
• Recent software development experience using Python
• Experience with Atlassian plugin software development kit or Visual Studio Code
• Familiar with IaC principles and automation tools (Ansible)
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Experience with automation frameworks including Ansible for orchestrating deployment
• Familiar with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI

• Experience deploying containerized services under Kubernetes orchestration

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Seven (7) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
