Information Systems Security Officer – Level 1

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) Level 1. The ISSO shall provide support for a program, organization, system, or enclave’s information assurance program. They will play a key role in securing complex systems to ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Evaluate security solutions to ensure requirements are met.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs).
• Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments to support system certification and accreditation.
• Ability to provide technical expertise in security policies and operations, supporting the implementation and maintenance of security measures, and collaborating with stakeholders to strengthen the security posture.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) – Level Senior

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience as an ISSO on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Experience is to include at least one (1) of the following knowledge areas: security tools, hardware/software security implementation, communication protocols, encryption technique tools.
• Certificate: IAM Level I or higher

• Nine (9) years of experience as an ISSO on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Certificate: IAM Level 1 or higher

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
