Database Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Database Engineer (DBE) Level 3.   The Database Engineer provides technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis. Assist with recommendations for, and analysis and evaluation of systems improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts. Works primarily at the front end of the lifecycle-requirements through system acceptance testing and Initial Operational Capability.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Extensive experience with installation and patching associated with Oracle Database
• Proficiency with Oracle Enterprise Manager
• Extensive experience with Oracle Data Guard
• Proficiency with Linux OS
• Experience with Linux commands
• Experience with Bash scripting
• Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as an SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Ten (10) years of experience as an SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• IAT Level 1 Certification or higher is required

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
