Information Technology Senior Consultant – Level 5

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Information Technology Senior Consultant (Level 5).  The candidate will be highly proficient with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale systems across multiple hardware platforms and data centers. Key duties involve large-scale system design, capacity planning, data center migrations, performance tuning, and hypervisor integration with VMware and Nutanix.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Knowledgeable with designing, architecting, configuring, deploying, upgrading, and supporting various storage and backup platforms and associated management tools
• Experience with capacity planning and sizing storage and backup environments
• Experience in performance tuning and optimizing storage and backup environments
• Strong understanding of high availability concepts with practical experience and implementation of key components in storage environments
• Strong understanding of fundamental hardware concepts
• Experienced connecting storage arrays to Hypervisor Technologies
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot storage systems
• Provide incident support and participate in on-call rotation during off-hours and weekends
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate, deploy, manage, and integrate new technologies
• Experienced with writing, updating, and standardizing documentation and procedures for systems, processes (e.g. run books, logical/physical diagrams)
• Responsible for ensuring systems are monitored and statistics relevant to capacity, performance, and utilization are maintained
• Keep abreast of current developments in storage and backup technology
• Responsible for monitoring the installation of new storage hardware and software as well as updates to hardware, operating systems and software

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, plus twelve (12) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• CompTIA Security+ or similar certification for IAT Level II

OR

• Twenty (20) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• CompTIA Security+ or similar certification for IAT Level II

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
