Cloud System Administrator – Level 2

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Cloud System Administrator (Level 2) who can integrate Site Reliability Engineering principles with IaC to ensure reliability and security of mission-critical systems. The Cloud System Administrator will set-up and configure AWS EC2 environments. Additionally, the Cloud System Administrator should be familiar with all aspects of Site Reliability Engineering in order to assist the team with automating operational tasks, design resilient systems, and implement monitoring and logging.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Must possess a solid understanding of core Linux operating system components
• Understands AWS Well Architected Frameworks and able to setup/configure AWS EC2 environments
• Ability to manage IaC
• Experience with Terraform
• Experience with Ansible

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Certificate in one of the following:
  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate
  • AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator Developer (CKAD)

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity—specifically, working with cloud-hybrid environments, systems administration, and virtualization technologies.
• Certifications:
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security + CE or equivalent)
  • Possession of a Cloud & DoD8571 IAT Level II cert is requires and will be verified
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
  • CDP Administrator – Private Cloud Base
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

OR

• Five (5) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity with three (3) years having worked with cloud-hybrid environments, systems administration, and virtualization technologies.
• Certifications:
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security + CE or equivalent)
  • Possession of a Cloud & DoD8571 IAT Level II cert is requires and will be verified
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
  • CDP Administrator – Private Cloud Base

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
