Software Engineer – Level 2

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level 2). The Software Engineer shall be responsible for implementing access controls and permission solutions for securing access to critical HPC system resources through robust security mechanisms, ensuring compliance with security policies and industry standards.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python) to automate tasks and processes
• Experience w/automation frameworks including Ansible
• Software development experience using Python and Rust
• Experience developing authentication protocols, authorization logic, access control lists, and permissions for HPC systems in Linux environment
• Familiar with basic Linux system administration
• Familiar with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Experience with Git Source Control System
• Familiar with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI
• Experience deploying containerized services under Kubernetes orchestration is desired
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence) is desired

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Seven (7) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
