Cloud System Administrator – Level 2

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Cloud System Administrator (Level 2). The Cloud System Administrator will sustain and optimize a cloud-based enterprise platform leveraging microservices and containerized technologies. Additionally, duties include ensuring day-to-day platform stability, supporting customer operations, and troubleshooting technical issues across complex Linux environments.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Must possess a solid understanding of core Linux operating system components
• Experience with Python
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Knowledge of Git
• Experience with Ansible or something similar
• Experience with Terraform
• Knowledge of Nginx
• Experience with RHEL
• Experience with Grafana
• Experience with AWS Resource Management
• Experience with Database technologies, e.g. Mongo, MySQL, PostgreSQL or similar)

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with Pig Scripting
• Experience with Java
• Knowledge of Docker
• Background in MapReduce programming model and technologies, e.g. Hadoop, Hive, or Pig)

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity—specifically, three (3) years being cloud experience.

OR

• Seven (7) years of Linux Systems Administration experience with three (3) years of cloud of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

• Required Certifications:
  • Security+ plus or comparable
  • Cloud System/Service Certification

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
