Cloud Software Engineer – Level 2

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Cloud Software Engineer (Level 2). The Cloud Software Engineer will provide cloud software research, development, and engineering services to include requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, sustainment, testing, validation, and issue diagnosis/resolution.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with Linux
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Knowledge of Ansible or something similar
• Experience with Linux (RHEL8) and Windows systems.
• Knowledge of Database technologies (Mongo, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar)
• Background with Python
• Experience with Git
• Experience with Terraform
• Knowledgeable of Nginx
• Experience with RHEL
• Experience with Grafana
• Familiar with AWS resource management

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Familiar with Pig Scripting
• Experience with Java
• Background with Docker
• Experience with Python
• Knowledgeable with MapReduce programming model and technologies (Hadoop, Hive, or Pig)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus one (1) year of experience as a cloud software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a cloud software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Five (5) years of experience as a cloud software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

• One of the following Certifications is required:  
  • AWS Certified Developer-Associate
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • Elastic Certified Engineer

*Candidate must provide proof of certifications during the screening or offer process

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
