Software Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level 3). The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems). The Software Engineer will recommend new technologies & processes for complex projects; serve as technical lead; ensure quality control on all developed and modified software.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Demonstrated work experience with OpenSource (NoSQL) products (e.g. Hbase/Accumulo, Big Table)
• Recent experience developing software in a Linux or Solaris environment  (6 out of the last 8 years)
• Experience with Java or C or C++ (6 years of experience)
• Experience with RESTful services
• Demonstrated work experience with IaC
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment, e.g. Ansible and Terraform
• Demonstrated experience with Kubernetes

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus twenty (20) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Twenty-four (24) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
