System Engineer – Level 2

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for a Systems Engineer (Level 2) to lead the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of large, complex data flows utilizing the NiFi  software application. The candidate will evaluate data formatting and software issues impacting data flows, collaborating closely with engineers and developers to implement effective solutions. The Systems Engineer will optimize performance and ensure strict compliance standards by analyzing existing data architectures and processing Dataflow Management Requests (DMRs). Additionally, the candidate will play a critical role in Data Flow Modernization efforts by evaluating current hardware-based infrastructure, defining technical requirements, and partnering with Operations to seamlessly migrate and rebuild data flows in a virtual cloud environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Six (6) years of Data Flow experience
• Minimum of Ten (10) years working within the IC working with mission systems and mission data formats
• Experience reviewing and processing, or creating Dataflow Management Requests, DMRs
• Experience with Apache NiFi
• On-call support on a rotating basis about every 6-8 weeks and an occasional need to report on-site to handle emergency issues with systems supporting dataflow.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with DeltFi

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus fourteen (14) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Nineteen (19) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
