Cloud Software Engineer – Level 2

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Cloud Software Engineer (Level 2).  The Cloud Software Engineer will design and implement resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud-native architectures and develop and maintain robust RESTful APIs and microservices. The Cloud Software Engineer will build, deploy, and manage containerized applications, emphasizing optimized image layering, security, and performance; implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources; and create interactive, data-driven dashboards and visualization tools using modern front-end frameworks such as React or Solid.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with Linux environment.
• Proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) or Python.
• Experience with Docker.
• Knowledge of React or Solid.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS is desired.
• Familiar w/distributed streaming platforms (Kafka) and graph databases is desired.
• Experience with big data processing frameworks, such as Apache Spark, is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Certifications (Cloud):
• AWS Certified Developer – Associate
• AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
• Elastic Certified Engineer

OR

• Five (5) years of experience as a cloud software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Certifications (Cloud):
• AWS Certified Developer – Associate
• AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
• Elastic Certified Engineer

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
