Site Reliability Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (Level 3).  The Site Reliability Engineer will work in a cloud environment platform, built with Java on Free and Open-Source Software products including Kubernetes, Hadoop and Accumulo, to enable the execution of data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure. This position is on the Operations Team that ensures day-to-day operations stability, provides customer support, as well as knowledge in technical and troubleshooting repair expertise. The ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment who is self-motivated and proactively completes tasks with strong attention to detail. This is an on-call position and the Site Reliability Engineer is expected to provide Tier 1 through 3 support. Additionally, the Site Reliability Engineer should have a strong background in troubleshooting operational issues in a Linux environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with Linux environment.
• Proficiency in Java.
• Experience with Hadoop.
• Experience with Accumulo.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with scripting (Bash, Python).
• Familiarity with Salt/Ansible, Grafana, Openstack and AWS is desired.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus ten (10) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Certifications (one of the following is required):
• AWS Certified Developer – Associate
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKAD)
• Elastic Certified Engineer

OR

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus twelve (12) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Certifications (one of the following is required):
• AWS Certified Developer – Associate
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKAD)
• Elastic Certified Engineer

OR

• Fourteen (14) years of experience as a site reliability engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Certifications (one of the following is required):
• AWS Certified Developer – Associate
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKAD)
• Elastic Certified Engineer

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
