Information Systems Security Officer – Level 1

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (Level 1). The Cyber Systems Engineer – ISSO shall play a key role in securing complex systems, ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks, and protecting sensitive information.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Provide technical and compliance support for the organization’s IA program.
• Plan, coordinate, and enforce IT security programs across various systems and projects.
• Maintaining the operational security posture for mission-critical information systems.
• Develop/enforce information system security policies, standards, and methodologies.
• Support daily security operations to include system monitoring & incident response.
• Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments to support system certification and accreditation (C&A).
• Evaluate security solutions to ensure requirements for handling classified data are met.
• Manage system configuration, changes, and security impact assessments.
• Prepare key documentation e.g., System Security Plan, Risk Assessment, C&A packages, and SRTMs.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as an ISSO in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Experience is to include at least one (1) of the following areas: knowledge of current security tools, hardware/software security implementation; communication protocols; and encryption techniques/tools.
• Certification:  DoD 8570 IAM Level I or higher is required

OR

• Nine (9) years of experience as an ISSO in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Experience is to include at least one (1) of the following areas: knowledge of current security tools, hardware/software security implementation; communication protocols; and encryption techniques/tools.

• Certification: DoD 8570 IAM Level I or higher is required

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
