Cloud Software Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Cloud Software Engineer (Level 3). The Cloud Software Engineer shall perform AWS Cloud Software Engineering/ DevOps Engineering to support mission-critical cloud modernization and software engineering efforts within a fast-paced Cyber Intelligence environment. The selected candidate will design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications and infrastructure supporting enterprise and mission operations.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience working in a Linux environment.

• Experience with software languages, e.g., Java, C, C++, Python, or similar high-level programming languages.
• Experience with AWS cloud technologies, DevOps automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering best practices.
• Experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Experience with containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker technologies.
• Experience with Git-based version control systems such as GitLab.

DESIRED SKILLS

• Experience designing scalable AWS Cloud Architectures.
• Knowledge of AWS Well-Architected Framework Reviews.
• Experience with serverless architectures and microservices.
• Familiarity with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Cost Management tools.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university plus six (6) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity—whereas a minimum of 6 years of experience shall entail developing software using Java, C, C++, Python, or similar high-level programming languages; a minimum of 5 years of experience involved in supporting UNIX/Linux operating systems; and a minimum of 3 years of experience with software integration and automated testing.

• Certifications: AWS Certified Developer – Associate; AWS DevOps Engineer Professional; Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

OR

• Eight (8) years of experience as a cloud software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity–whereas a minimum of 6 years of experience shall entail developing software using Java, C, C++, Python, or similar high-level programming languages; a minimum of 5 years of experience involved in supporting UNIX/Linux operating systems; and a minimum of 3 years of experience with software integration and automated testing.

• Certifications: AWS Certified Developer – Associate; AWS DevOps Engineer Professional; Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
