Cloud Software Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level 3). The Software Engineer will analyze and develop requirements to support the characterization and ingestion of new and existing data types. The Software Engineer will collaborate with customer teams to understand needs and requirements; and recommend new technologies and processes for complex software projects.  The Software Engineer will manage the software development lifecycle including design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in software development
• 4+ years languages such as Java, C, or C++
• 3+ years of software integration and testing
• 3+ years developing software on UNIX/Linux (Red Hat 3–5)
• One of the following certifications:
  • AWS Solutions Architect – Associate
  • AWS Developer – Associate
  • AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Strong expertise in AWS SDLs, APIs and cloud architecture design
• Experience with AWS Well-Architected Framework and serverless deployments
• Hands-on with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Skilled in CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Proficient with GitLab for version control.
• Familiarity with AWS Cost Management tools like Pricing Calculator and Cost Explorer.
• Experience using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other AWS monitoring services

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus six (6) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus six (4) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Eight (8) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
