Cloud Software Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Cloud Software Engineer (Level 3). The Cloud Software Engineer will have a primary focus of supporting all aspects of agile software design and development for a full featured service hosted on large scale compute clusters and AWS Cloud Infrastructure. Duties include design, development, testing and integration of capabilities, optimization & performance tuning, and operation & sustainment functions.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience in Linux and Java programming.
• Experience with AWS Cloud Architecture design.
• Proficiency using AWS SDKs and APIs.
• Proficient with continuous integration, deployment, testing, & monitoring practices.
• Knowledge of Hadoop and Accumulo.
• Familiar with microservices software development techniques and containerized-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Agile development tools with source code management practices.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus four (4) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus six (6) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Eight (8) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
