Cloud Software Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Cloud Software Engineer (Level 3).  Software Engineer will extract meaningful value from diverse structured and unstructured datasets by leveraging advanced statistical methods and machine learning to uncover key entity behaviors and patterns. In this role, the candidate will use advanced query and visualization tools to transform complex datasets into clear, story-driven insights. The candidate will collaborate closely with customer teams to understand direct mission requirements, analyzing and developing technical specifications to automate metadata characterization and streamline the ingestion of new and existing data types.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with advanced query and visualization tools (e.g. DataXplorer, GMAE)
• Knowledge with data enrichment/conversion methods
• Expertise with structed data types (e.g. XML, CSV, JSON)
• Working knowledge of NiFi
• Experienced with JAVA/Python analytic development

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Analytic development experience using scripting languages such as Python and Scala to use statistical libraries against data
• Skilled with big data processing frameworks such as Pig, MapReduce and Spark to scale algorithms over large volumes of data
• Experience employing combination (2 or more) of analysis, computer science, mathematics, and software engineering skills to devise strategies for extracting meaning and value from large datasets
• Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning, and data mining
• Skilled with data flows, Pig scripting, Hadoop MapReduce, and various analytic tools

CERTIFICATION : Must possess one of the following:

• AWS Certified Developer – Associate
• AWS Certified Machine Learning – Associate
• AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty
• AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

(Cloud certification will be verified during the interview or offer process)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus four (4) years of experience as a cloud software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus six (6) years of experience as a cloud software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Eight (8) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
