Cloud System Administrator – Level 1

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Cloud System Administrator (Level 1).  The Cloud Administrator will support implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of large Hadoop/Cloud clusters. The candidate shall be well-grounded in Linux fundamentals and possess knowledge in at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.). The candidate must also be knowledgeable of security and compliance best practices.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with Hadoop, Accumulo, or Swift object stores.
• Experience managing and monitoring large distributed systems.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Salt).
• Understanding of overall corporate architecture as well as familiarity with OpenSSL and Java keystore manipulation.
• Experience accessing and troubleshooting systems via remote utilities to perform hardware diagnosis and repair including VNC, serial over LAN interfaces, and BIOS-level configuration.
• The following certification or comparable Cloud System/Service Certification is required: (choose one)
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
  • CDP Administrator – Private Cloud Base
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • Hadoop/Cloud System Administrator

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics  or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
