Cloud System Administrator – Level 2

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Cloud System Administrator (Level 2) to perform in a cloud environment platform, built with Java on Free and OpenSource software. The candidate will work with data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure. The candidate will be involved with day-to-day operations, providing customer support, as well as technical and troubleshooting repair expertise. Furthermore, the candidate will provide Tier 1 through Tier 3 support.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with Java and working in a Linux environment.
• Experience in Linux/Unix networking (nmap, tcpdump, firewalls).
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with Hadoop and Accumulo.
• Additional knowledge of Docker and scripting in Python or Bash is desired.

*This is an evening or mid-shift position.

** Possession of a Cloud Certification and 8570 Certification is required and will be verified as part of the interview/offer process.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Certificate in one of the following:
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
  • CDP Administrator – Private Cloud Base
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

OR

• Seven (7) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Certificate in one of the following:
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
  • CDP Administrator – Private Cloud Base
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
