Cloud System Administrator – Level 2

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Cloud System Administrator (Level 2).  The Cloud Administrator will support cloud-based data repositories in a dynamic, high-tempo operational environment where requirements evolve rapidly. The candidate will administer and engineer large-scale Hadoop and Accumulo clusters, ensure system reliability and security, and collaborate across infrastructure, networking, and security domains.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Solid understanding and working knowledge of core Linux environments (7+ yrs).
• Experience with Hadoop and Accumulo.
• Perform root cause analysis and contribute to post-incident reviews.
• Experience creating automation scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code deployments.
• Knowledge of user group account management (LDAP).
• Proficient with system patching, upgrades and security hardening.
• Performance tuning and resource optimization.
• Experience with Docker containerization and image management.
• Knowledge of Helm charts and cluster configuration.
• Knowledge of cloud-based storage architectures.
• Experience with Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform or CloudFormation
• The following certification or comparable Cloud System/Service Certification is required: (choose one)
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
  • Security+
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics  or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity that includes Linux experience and scripting experience administering to large distributed systems.

OR

• Nine (9) years of experience in system administration in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity that includes Linux experience and scripting experience administering to large distributed systems.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
