Hardware Engineer – Level 2

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Hardware Engineer (Level 2). The Hardware Engineer will deliver engineering expertise for SIGINT solutions, analyzing complex systems, networks, and architectures. Responsibilities span the entire equipment lifecycle, including procurement, acceptance testing, deployment, and ongoing preventative and remedial maintenance. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for organizing installations, creating engineering plans and Technical Design Packages, and configuring and documenting computing and network hardware.

Candidate needs to be willing to relocate (OCONOS)

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Prepare functional requirements and specifications for hardware acquisitions.
• Analyze hardware specifications and system/subsystem requirements to conceive and document a practical design for hardware components to include servers, network devices, transmission media, storage devices, user interface devices, and special processors.
• Ensure that problems with operational hardware have been properly identified and solutions will satisfy the user’s requirements.
• Assist with preparing installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Conduct site surveys; assess and document current site network configuration and site-unique requirements.
• Recommend specifications for hardware acquisitions.
• Prepare engineering plans and site installation of Technical Design Packages.
• Prepare drawings documenting as-built configuration at each site.
• Prepare site installation and test report.
• Configure computers, communication devices and peripheral equipment.
• Prepare installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline and Fourteen (14) years of experience as a system engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. 

OR

• Nineteen (19) years of experience of hardware engineering on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
