Software Engineer – Level 1

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level1).  The candidate will implement, test, and operate software applications using secure coding techniques in compliance with established technical reference architectures. The candidate will debug and code new features, modify existing software, and participate in security testing. The software engineer will contribute across all levels of the architecture, maintain technical documentation, and collaborate with team members to adopt secure coding best practices.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Demonstrated experience with NoSQL, (e.g. Hbase, Accumulo, Big Table, etc.)
• A minimum of six (6) years demonstrated experience out of the most recent eight (8) years developing production software for Solaris or Linux environments
• Six years (6) of experience developing software using the Java programming language or C or C++
• Experience with developing RESTful services
• Experience with Java development
• Knowledge of Kubernetes
• Previous experience developing analytics applications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Eleven (11) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
