Software Engineer – Level 2

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level 2). The Software Engineer shall design and code new software and modify existing software to add new features. Further duties include: debug software and correct defects; integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments; develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases; provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards; analyze system performance standards; analyze systems flows; and modify existing software to adapt to new hardware. Additionally, the Software Engineer will oversee one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project. And, the candidate will coordinate software system installations and monitor that equipment is functioning in order to ensure that operational specifications are met

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience working in a Linux environment
• Experience with MapReduce
• Experience with Java
• Experience with Cloud
• Experience with QTA

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline and fourteen (14) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Eighteen (18) years of related software engineering experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
