Software Engineer – Level 2

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level 2). The Software Engineer shall analyze user and system requirements, to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications. The Software Engineer will contribute to UI/UX improvements that enhance usability; participate in code reviews and testing; and support the evolution of a mature codebase while introducing modern front-end best practices.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with RESTful APIs
• Proficiency in Python or Java
• Experience with web application development frameworks (e.g. Flask, Django, Spring Boot)
• Build, deploy and manage with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with modern frameworks e.g. React, Solid, and JQuery
• Experience with data pipelines and data processing tools
• Knowledge of modern UI/UX best practices and component-based architecture.

DESIRED EXPERTISE:

• Experience with Apache Spark
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Familiar with Kubernetes monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
• Experience with Kubernetes operators and custom resource definitions (CRDs)
• Understanding of Kubernetes concepts including deployments, services, pods, namespaces, and resource management

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus fourteen (4) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Fourteen (14) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
