Software Engineer – Level 2

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level 2). The Software Engineer shall analyze user and system requirements for agile software design, development, installation, testing, and maintaining software applications. The Software Engineer will contribute to UI/UX improvements that enhance usability; participate in code reviews and testing; and support the evolution of a mature codebase while introducing modern front-end best practices.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Proficiency with IaC tools like Ansible and Puppet
• Strong experience with Java
• Well-grounded with at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.)
• Experience with web application development frameworks (e.g. Flask, Django, Spring Boot)
• Familiar with microservices such as Kubernetes
• Familiar with containerization (e.g. Docker)
• Knowledge of modern UI/UX best practices and component-based architecture.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with Hadoop, Accumulo, and NiFi
• Experience with MongoDB
• Familiar Spring Framework, Python, and Bash
• AWL Cloud experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus fourteen (4) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Fourteen (14) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
