Software Engineer – Level 2

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level 2). The Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, deploys, documents, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements. These systems might include, but are not limited to, processing­ intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, business management information systems, and systems which incorporate data repositories, data transport services, and application and systems development and monitoring. The Software Engineer (Level 2) will be responsible collaborating with Product Owners, System Engineers, and Project Software Engineers to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and sustain an enterprise web application deployed in a containerized Kubernetes Linux environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Tool Suite
• Experience developing with Python in a Linux environment
• Experience developing Bash/Python scripts
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Familiar with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
• Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy containerized services on Kubernetes
• Experience with SQL technologies such as MySQL
• Experience with designing and implementing REST interfaces
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI
• Experience with Git Source Control System
• Experience with the Django Web framework
• Experience with the Celery Task Scheduler
• Experience with NGINX
• Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Experience with AI Development Tools

QUALIFICATIONS:

Software Engineer (Level 2)

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

Seven (7) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
