Software Engineer – Level 2

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level 2). The Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, deploys, documents, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements. These systems might include, but are not limited to, processing­ intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, business management information systems, and systems which incorporate data repositories, data transport services, and application and systems development and monitoring. The Software Engineer (Level 2) will be responsible for developing and maintaining system management infrastructure software and services for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools
• Experience developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes
• Recent software development experience using Python
• Familiar with Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools such as Netbox
• Familiar with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions such as Keycloak
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, PodMan, containered
• Experience with automation frameworks including Ansible for orchestrating deployment
• Familiar with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins
• Experience with Git Source Control System
• Familiar with Observability and Analytics platform solutions such as Splunk
• Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Seven (7) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
