Software Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level 3). The Software Engineer will analyze and develop requirements to support the characterization and ingestion of new and existing data types. The Software Engineer will collaborate with customer teams to understand needs and requirements; and recommend new technologies and processes for complex software projects in an Agile environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Strong Java experience
• Working knowledge of NIFI
• Strong knowledge of structured data types (XML, CSV, JSON)
• Experience with query and visualization tools (e.g. DataXplorer, GMAE)
• Skilled with leveraging statistical methods and/or machine learning to discover patterns and behaviors
• Experience with DBA Development
• Minimum of six (6) recent years of development experience

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Analytic development experience using scripting languages (e.g. Python, Scala)
• Experience with big data processing frameworks (e.g. Pig, MapReduce, and Spark)
• Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning, and data mining
• Skilled with data flows (e.g. Pig scripting, Hadoop, MapReduce)
• Experience with query and visualization tools (e.g. DataXplorer, GMAE)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus four (20) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Twenty-four (24) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
