Software Engineer (Level 3)

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (SWE) Level 3. The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade- offs, software reuse, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Linux system administration experience (file system manipulation, monitoring and logging, troubleshooting; experience with command line tools)
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, automation and monitoring of tools and processes
• Kubernetes experience with the understanding of deployment, management, and configuration
• Docker experience (deployment, management, and configuration)

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Cloud computing skills (AWS)
• Experience with scripting tools (bash, python, JavaScript, etc.)
• Experience building and supporting VMs
• Experience with Apache NiFi
• Experience with visualization/reporting tools (Grafana, Kibana, etc.)
• Experience with Jenkins

QUALIFICATIONS:

Software Engineer (SWE) – Level 3

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus twenty (20) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Twenty-four (24) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
