Cloud Software Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level1) to drive the development, maintenance, and enhancement of complex, diverse software systems, ranging from processing-intensive analytics and novel algorithms to real-time systems and large datasets. The candidate will work both independently and collaboratively to review components, execute rigorous testing methodologies, and resolve system problem reports in alignment with design requirements. The senior engineer will guide hardware/software trade-offs, champion software reuse and recommend emerging technologies for complex projects. The candidate will serve as the technical lead across multiple software development teams, selecting development processes in coordination with stakeholders, maintaining quality control, and monitoring delegated programming and testing responsibilities.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Possesses Cloud certification
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve software problems
• Provide specific input to software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development
• Serve as technical lead of multiple software development teams

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with AWS cloud environments
• Experience with Terraform
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus four (4) years of experience as a cloud software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus six (6) years of experience as a cloud software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Eight (8) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
