Software Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Level 3). The Software Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including system architects, and project managers, to ensure software meets user requirements and is delivered on schedule. The candidate shall have strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills. They must also show adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement, which includes mentoring junior engineers.​​

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with Linux environments
• Experienced with Go or Python in cloud-native contexts
• Strong Kubernetes experience: CRDs, Helm, GitOps, multi-tenant app deployments
• Experience with event-driven or agent-based systems (e.g., Kafka controller, patterns)
• Familiar with infrastructure automation (Terraform, cloud-init, Ansible)
• Comfortable balancing automation and operator oversight in complex environments

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline and twenty (20) years of experience as a software engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. 

OR

• Twenty-four (24) years of experience as a software engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
