Software Integration Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Integration Engineer (Level 3). The Software Integration Engineer plays a critical role in delivering fast, reliable, and secure software deployments across a wide range of high‑performance computing environments. In this position, the Software Integration Engineer is responsible for orchestrating and managing complex configuration changes and software updates across production systems, ensuring every phase of the delivery lifecycle adheres to the highest standards of security, compliance, and performance. Additionally, the Software Integration Engineer serves as the Tier 3 technical escalation lead, collaborating closely with Operations & Maintenance teams to diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues. This includes conducting in‑depth root cause analysis and developing automated remediation strategies that improve system stability, prevent recurrence, and enhance long‑term operational efficiency.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux suite of tools
• Experience developing with Python to develop custom Ansible modules
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker/Podman
• Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy containerized services in a Kubernetes environment
• Experience with IaC principles, concepts, and methodologies using automation tools including Ansible
• Experience with DevOps/GitOps principles, concepts, and best practices creating release candidates for deployment, maintaining, and troubleshooting pipelines
• Experience using system monitoring tools such as Prometheus/Grafana
• Working knowledge of Git, including branching strategies and tagging

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
• Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies
• Familiar with Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools such as Netbox

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline and eight (8) years of demonstratable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.

OR

• Thirteen (13) years of full time, directly related experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, with eight (8) of those years having demonstratable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
