Software Integration Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced Software Integration Engineer (Level 3). The Software Integration Engineer provides expertise in integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment. The Software Integration Engineer (Level 3) will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operational support of the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) component of the computing environment. Tasking shall ensure platform reliability, scalability, security compliance, and optimal cluster performance.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux suite of tools
• Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker/Podman
• Demonstrated experience administrating and monitoring Kubernetes clusters
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Kubernetes workloads (ingress, performance, networking, storage, etc.)
• Experience with IaC principles, concepts, and methodologies using automation tools including Ansible
• Experience writing, deploying, and maintaining Helm Charts
• Experience using system monitoring tools such as Prometheus /Grafana
• Experience using Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
• Experience working in a DevOps environment that uses Agile principles and methodologies
• Experience with or willingness to learn development of Python applications (REST services, microservices, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and six (6) years of experience.

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline and eight (8) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Five (5) years of full time, directly related, computer science experience that can be substituted for a degree, plus eight (8) years demonstratable experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
