System Administrator – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced System Administrator (SA) – Level 3 to support a large-scale Linux system, which includes installation of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software. The System Administrator will perform day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem solving for all compute, network, memory, and storage system components. Additionally, the System Administrator shall maintain system security integrity and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Strong experience working in a Linux environment, using Linux CLI.
• Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python.
• Experience performing system administration to include installation, configuration, and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software.
• Experience w/Red Hant Satellite systems management solution.
• Familiarity with Splunk.
• Experience configuring and sustaining VMware ESXi/Virtualization environments.
• Familiar with containerization technologies, such as Docker.
• Experience using IaC principles and automation tools (Ansible and SaltStack).
• Knowledge of container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) is desired.
• Experience with Atlassian Suite of Tools (Jira and Confluence) is desired.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and fifteen (15) years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Certification:  Security+

OR

• Twenty (20) years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Certification:  Security+

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
