System Engineer – Level 1.5

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced System Engineer (Level 1.5). The System Engineer will work on enterprise networking and cloud infrastructure. This is an operations-focused engineering role requiring technical expertise to monitor, analyze and sustain complex distributed systems. The candidate will provide real-time situational awareness and concise operational reporting.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Expertise in enterprise networking (TCP/IP, routing protocols such as BGP/OSPF, switching, DNS, segmentation)
• Experience in real-time operations environments
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
• Proficiency with monitoring and analytics tools (e.g., Splunk, Elastic, Prometheus, SolarWinds, or similar)
• Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems
• Experienced with operational scripting (Bash, Python, or similar)
• Familiar with cloud networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancing, security groups)

 DESIRED:

• Relevant certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, Security+, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus ten (10) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Fifteen (15) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
