System Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced System Engineer (Level 3). The System Engineer will architect, deploy, and maintain robust cloud environments, primarily within AWS, while also supporting existing on-premise server infrastructure. System Engineer (Level 3) shall lead cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies to streamline development and integration of complex information systems. Additionally, the System Engineer (Level 3) shall provide Tier 3 systems and security engineering support for Splunk-based systems.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with:
  • Windows Server 2022
  • Windows 10/11
  • Various Linux distributions within both cloud and on-premise
  • Cloud-networking concepts
  • SaltStack with integration and operational stability of CI/CD pipelines
  • AWS cloud resources including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, AMIs, Route 53, workspaces, and other core services
  • Desired familiarity with tools like Terraform, Salt, Ansible, and BigFix to automate provisioning and configuration

QUALIFICATIONS:

System Engineer (Level 3)

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline or a related field from an accredited college or university, plus twenty (20) years of experience as a SE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• IAT II Certificate

OR

• Twenty-five (25) years of experience as a SE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• IAT II Certificate

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
