System Engineer – Level 3

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for an experienced System Engineer (Level 3).  The System Engineer shall be experienced with hardware/software integration and system deployments. The System Engineer will perform installation, relocation, removal, and maintenance of fiber/cat5/6 cabling, cross connections, equipment cabinets, networking, and telecommunications equipment. The System Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting/evaluating hardware/software and other network related issues.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience working in a Linux environment
• Proficient in terminating cables to include CAT-5/6 and fiber optics cables
• Experience with Fiber Optic Test Equipment including Meter and Optical Time Data Recorder (OTDR)
• Familiarity with Dell, Arista, and Raritan hardware

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, plus six (6) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Ten (10) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
