System Engineer – Level 1.5

DESCRIPTION:

Ascendant Innovations Corp is looking for a Systems Engineer to maintain the stability, performance, and operational reliability of our core software environment. The candidate will serve as the primary technical point of contact for troubleshooting errors, supporting users, and partnering with the engineering group to deploy permanent fixes. Daily responsibilities require hands-on Linux expertise to start, stop, and diagnose background services across a diverse technology stack. Additionally, the candidate will participate in an after-hours on-call rotation to ensure continuous system availability.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience maintaining, configuring and supporting complex software applications
• Familiar with Apache NiFi, Dataflow and Mission data formats
• Experience with Linux command line and Systems Administration support
• Experience working with Atlassian tools, Jira, Confluence
• Familiar with web application architectures, web servers (e.g., Apache, Tomcat, IIS), and APIs.
• Working knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, ContainerYard)
• Experience with MongoDB, Mongo Compass, ElasticSearch
• Familiar with AWS

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus ten (10) years of experience as a cloud software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

OR

• Fifteen (15) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Clearance Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI w/polygraph.
